At our clinic, we’re passionate about seeing children start down the path towards a lifetime of dental health. We can help you by providing tips and strategies to help your child develop good habits involving hygiene, diet and care that will ensure they keep their adult teeth for as long as possible. Struggling to get your child to brush? First time parents are encouraged to start a conversation with us. We’ve encountered thousands of parents just like yourself and can give you the benefit of our experience.

We have three wonderful Oral Health Therapists who are passionate about children’s dentistry. Lauren, Danielle and Gabi are experienced in giving your child the best dental experience possible and understand that your little one’s needs are very different compared to adults.

Little children need specific dental attention. Children’s mouths change dramatically over the years, and it’s important to ensure that they’re going in for regular check-ups to ensure that everything is developing properly.

Teeth can erupt improperly; decay can take hold or baby teeth can be lost early. It’s important to listen to your child when they complain about pain or tightness in the mouth. These can often be early warning signs for potentially serious problems, so if your child is experiencing toothache or unpleasantness in their mouth, make an appointment.
We strive to make your child’s dental visit an enjoyable and FUN experience as well as teaching them healthy dental habits that will carry into the future.

If they are sensitive to noise, smell, tastes, touch or are nervous when visiting somewhere new, please let us know. We will send you a story book of our practice, with pictures for each step along the way, and, we can ensure any of our comfort menu items are in the room.

Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS)

Early preventative dental care and education are important for your little ones. As parents ourselves, we understand how good oral habits can impact not just your child’s smile, but their overall health.

Absolutely Dental proudly support the Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS). CDBS is a Medicare funded program that helps cover the cost of essential dental care for eligible children aged 0 to 17 years.

CDBS provides up to $1,132 in benefits over two consecutive calendar years. It can be used for basic dental services including:

  • Check-ups and cleans
  • X-rays
  • Fissure sealings
  • Root Canals
  • Extractions

These services can be bulk billed, which means no out of pocket costs to you if your child has an available balance! *CDBS does not cover cosmetic dental work, orthodontics or dental services provided in hospital.

Eligibility:

  • Aged 0 to 17 years for at least one day of the calendar year
  • Be eligible for Medicare on the day of service
  • Receive or be part of a family getting certain Australian Government payments

We assess eligibility at the beginning of each calendar year and it's valid for the entire year. Children who become eligible later in the calendar year will have their eligibility backdated to begin from 1 January of that calendar year.
